I have been coming to Holiday Music for many years and it has been hugely significant in my growth as a musician.

I was initially attracted to the course because I had many hang-ups about my abilities as a cellist as, having started lessons after I left school, I was terrified of playing in public.

Fast forward, years later and I have formed a duo with a pianist on the course and we regularly give public concerts – even enjoy preparing and putting them on. I have also formed a duo with a local cellist and we also perform from time to time.

Holiday Music has substantially increased my confidence and removed a large part of the fear I used to experience.

I really like the way that we are encouraged to bring our own repertoire and are also introduced to new pieces we might not have considered. It is also useful having input from several tutors on the same piece.

To live in a collaborative musical bubble, without the distractions of everyday life, with like- minded, friendly and fun people (some of whom have become dear friends), several times a year, is a real treat.
